Braces for adults?

Adults in Las Vegas and throughout the United States are requesting orthodontic treatment at an increasing rate.  In my office alone we have seen over 100% increase in orthodontics for adults, mostly due to the ease of straightening teeth with modern methods.  Braces have become more popular in adults with severe malocclusion that was never corrected as teenagers. 

Much of the increase in adult orthodontics has been due to increased awareness and education on the health benefits of having a straight, healthy smile.  However, in Las Vegas most of the increase in the popularity of adult orthodontics is likely attributable to the ease of straightening teeth using modern and less invasive methods. 

My private
dental office offers Invisalign as an alternative to traditional braces.  The advantages of using Invisalign include esthetics (barely visible in smile), comfort (often gentler and more precise tooth movements than traditional metal braces), and the ability to remove Invisalign aligners to eat, oral hygiene, or special events.
